On February 25, 2016, our Romanian Partner, Babes-Bolyai University, organized in Bucharest the national expert group meeting as part of the Delphi Study conducted in workpackage 4.
The aim of the meeting was to validate and contextualize – for Romania – a set of indicators that characterize the evidence informed policy processes. The meeting was delivered in the format of an interactive national conference where all participants had to contribute for identifying the most important points of applying the set of indicators in the Romanian policy arena using the SWOT Analysis as a method. The second step was for them to make recommendations and why not offer solutions for facilitating the process of evidence informed policy making.
We had participants from various fields like sport, education, and health, that represented various levels, national or local, and with different professional background and expertise from policy development, policy implementation, and political sciences/academia. We truly believe that having experts from various fields at the table resulted in richness and diversity of information. We’d like to thank the participants for their valuable input and report.
The results of the Romanian event, along with the results of the other partner countries involved in this research activity, will contribute to the development Guidance Resources that will be made available to European policymakers, with the purpose of supporting their work towards including (more) evidence into (health promotion/physical activity) policies they develop.
Not least, the meeting was an excellent opportunity for project dissemination, various stakeholders being contacted and informed about REPOPA project with this occasion.
The main outputs of the REPOPA project will be presented in the final project meeting, scheduled in Brussels, Sept 8, 2016.
