The REPOPA team attended the 8th Nordic Health Promotion Research Conference which was held in Jyväskylä, Finland between 20th- 22nd July 2016. The scope of the conference included a review the past twenty years of health promotion research and its development, paradigm shift of health in local and a focus on health promotion interventions.
May 19th 2016, REPOPA team participated in the Danish Implementation Network Annual Conference. This year the conference theme was: “The role of implementation tools in implementation”. REPOPA was invited to share knowledge about how we are implementing the REPOPA interventions.
Our colleagues from Southern Dermark University have recently published a research article using the national REPOPA Data. The article focused on the importance of collaboration for evidence-informed policy making. Using the WP1 methodology, content analysis and interviews, the study explored the involvement of external stakeholders in local health policymaking and public officials’ perceptions on involving them. From 27-28th April 2016, REPOPA team participated at the Third Fuse International Conference on Knowledge Exchange in Public Health, Newcastle Gateshead, UK. This year Conference Theme: “Evidence to Impact in Public Health" was the perfect match with the Project REPOPA goal and objectives, and a good opportunity for us to disseminate our results to wider audience.
REPOPA Researchers have recently published a peer-reviewed article in Health Research Policy and Systems Journal. Under the lead of Riitta-Maija Hämäläinen (Finland), the article "Cross-sector cooperation in health-enhancing physical activity policymaking: more potential than achievements?" reports on the governance structures and processes of cross-sector cooperation in health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) policies in six European Union (EU) member states.
On February 25, 2016, our Romanian Partner, Babes-Bolyai University, organized in Bucharest the national expert group meeting as part of the Delphi Study conducted in workpackage 4.
Following months of careful planning, the UK National Conference was held on the 25th January 2016 in London. The conference was one of six which were carried out in other REPOPA partner countries as the 3rd phase of the REPOPA Delphi study.
The aim of the international Delphi study was to validate and contextualise results from other work packages of the project in particular, evidence-informed policy making (EIPM) indicators. The purpose of the national conferences was to contextualise the results of the previous rounds of the Delphi study.
